Meditation is focused thinking about a Bible verse in order to discover how I can apply its truth to my own life. There are 7 ways to meditate on God's word (one for each day of the week):
Sunday: Mine it! Is there a word or phrase that speaks to you? Ask God, "What are you trying to say or deal with in my life?" Pray about it.
Monday: Picture it! Visualize the scene in your mind. What do you experience when doing so?
Tuesday: Pronounce it! Say the verse out loud, each time emphasizing a different word.
Wednesday: Paraphrase it! Rewrite the verse in your own words.
Thursday: Personalize it! Replace the pronouns or people in the verse with your own name.
Friday: Pray it! Turn the verse into a prayer and pray it back to God.
Saturday: Probe! Is there a Sin to confess? Is there a Promise to claim? Is there an Attitude to change? Is there an Example to follow? Is there a Prayer to Pray?
