PASTOR'S STUDY

An Advent Study: "Light of the World"

Mondays, 6 pm

December 2, 9, 16, and 23

This December, deepen your understanding of the Advent season with our Bible study based on *Light of the World: A Beginner’s Guide to Advent," by Amy-Jill Levine.

In this four-week study, we will explore the biblical texts surrounding the birth of Jesus, from Zechariah and Elizabeth to the journey to Bethlehem, the visit from the Magi, and more. Each session will open conversations on topics such as the connection between the Gospel stories and the Old Testament, the role of women in first-century Jewish culture, the revolutionary nature of Mary’s Magnificat, and the significance of the star of Bethlehem and the flight to Egypt.

There will be no need to read the book ahead of time! This study is designed to be accessible to all, whether you’ve read the book or not. Join us as we dive into these powerful and meaningful Advent stories, learning together and reflecting on their relevance in our lives today.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're new to Bible study or have been studying for years. We look forward to seeing you there!
